About Us
Neighborhood Mortgage Solutions is a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) providing mortgage services to credit unions. We are credit union owned and founded in 2008 by three credit union partners in Michigan: Frankenmuth Credit Union, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union and Team One Credit Union.
What is a CUSO?
As a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), we exist to enhance mortgage product offerings for Credit Unions, keeping their mortgage origination and servicing income in the communities they serve.
Service Expectations
We strive each day to provide above and beyond service to our credit union partners and their members. We are an extension of our partners, and as a CUSO extend the philosophy of “people helping people” and credit union values.
Our Mission
To enhance the mortgage product offerings for all Credit Unions, be it owners or affiliates, by way of the diverse mortgage products offered and by keeping each Credit Union’s mortgage origination and servicing income in the communities they serve.
Our Core Values
Credit Union Movement
The credit union movement traces back to Germany in the mid-1800s, where residents had little access to financial services. Built on the cooperative concept of non-profit and membership, credit unions were created in America in the early 1900s.
Today, credit unions improve the financial well-being of their communities and the members they serve and operate under the philosophy of “People Helping People.”
People Helping People
Credit unions were created to offer members a low-cost alternative to banks. When money was hard to come by, individuals began pooling their money together to make loans to one another. Today, credit unions have evolved into full-service financial institutions and the philosophy of “People Helping People” is at the core.
